Randy “Skeeter” Hoffman 50, of New Bloomfield, PA, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021 in West Shore Hospital. Skeeter was born on November 2, 1970 to Vicki Shenk of Loysville and Jackie “Woody” Hoffman (Ruth Ann) of McAlisterville.
He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years Karen Kretzing Hoffman, as well as his parents. Skeeter is also survived by his daughter Amber Hoffman Flint, her husband Joshua, his son, Curtis Hoffman, and stepchildren Matthew Jones (Heather) and Erin Jones Casner (Josh). Skeeter was Pappy to grandchildren Anthony and Adalyn Flint, and to step-grandchildren, Amaya and Cameron Krebs, Jameson and Dashiell Jones, and Isabell, Adelina, and Everlee Casner. In addition, he is survived by family members, Johnny Hoffman, Joe Hockenberry, Jason Hockenberry and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Skeeter was a former employee of Wilcox Forging Corporation, but his favorite job was being a self-employed welder. He was a member of the New Bloomfield VFW. Dirt track late model racing was one of his passions in life, and he drove at several local tracks starting at age 17. Other interests include fishing, hunting, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Some of his happiest memories were going to Rehoboth Beach with his grandparents.
Skeeter was preceded in death by grandparents John and Veda Hoffman and Ralph and Carolyn Shenk, and his uncle, John Hoffman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with an additional visitation on Friday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Boyer Family Funeral Home in New Bloomfield. Rev. Kevin O’Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in New Bloomfield Cemetery.
