Paul Alvin McConnell, 73, of Shermans Dale went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Life Care Nursing Home, Camp Hill. Born August 4, 1943 in Blain, he was the son of the late Vernon A. and Madeline M. (Adair) McConnell.

He grew up working the family farm in Blain and also worked construction with his Cousins Larry and Jim. He attended Blain Union High School class of 1961. He was a member of the Three Springs Church of the Brethren of Blain. He was a life member and board member of the Shermans Dale Fire Co. He could be seen selling gun raffle ticket with his buddy, Marlin Bentsel. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed races at Port Royal Speedway and Sunday Afternoon NASCAR races and his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. He was a retired employee of Kinney Shoe Corp. He also attended and was a board member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Marysville.

Surviving are his wife Kay L. Burkholder and a son Jason and wife Michelle and a granddaughter, Carly Faith Mc Connell, all of Shermans Dale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Lucille.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Three Springs Church of the Brethren, Blain. Rev. John Kipp Will officiate. Burial will be in Blain Cemetery.

Viewing hours are Friday, 6-8 PM in the Boyer Family Funeral Home, New Bloomfield and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
