John W. Miller

John W. Miller, 76, of East Main Street, New Bloomfield, went to be with the Lord On Sunday, October 4, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born March 1, 1944 in Elliottsburg, he was the son of the late George E. and Mildred K. (Myer) Miller.

John was a patriot. He severed his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a kind, gentle and selfless man.  He was strong and proud, a good father and husband who loved his family…he was a family man!  He had worked for the former Capital Products Corp and New Bloomfield Food Rite.  He enjoyed puzzles, cowboy movies, reading, family and building bird houses.  He was a member of the Village Chapel Church of Donnelly’s Mills.

 Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Darlene “Dolly” Miller. a daughter, Melissa Laughlin and husband Bill of Newport;  two sons, Gregory Miller and wife Debra of Lewisberry and Randy Miller of New Bloomfield;  2 grandchildren, Ashley Sagle and husband Will of Liverpool and Aysia Laughlin and finace’ Ryan of Newport.  Great granddaughter Claire Clark.  A brother, Charles Miller and wife (Connie) of Newport and  a sister, Joanne Rudy and husband Albert of Elliottsburg.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Myer.

SERVICE DETAILS

 Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday. October 9, 2020 in The Village Chapel, Donnelly’s Mills.  Pastor John Briggs will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Eschol Cemetery.  A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
