John R. Stansfield

3/16/40 – 2/11/21

John R. Stansfield, 80 of New Bloomfield Road, Duncannon, went to be with the lord on February 11th 2021 in UPMC Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg, surrounded by his family.

Born March 16, 1940 in Duncannon, he was the son of the late Harry and Bertha (Beck) Stansfield. He was  a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He and Mary Bell were united in marriage on July 23, 1960 and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

John was a 1957 graduate of Susquenita High School, a devout Christian and member of Newport Assembly of God.  He showed his love for the Lord by living his life for him. He also enjoyed vacationing at the New Jersey shore and Sandy Cove Christian Conference Center. He was project manager for Harsco/Taylor Wharton for 38 years. He also tuned pianos and enjoyed playing the organ at his own church as well as many other churches and events in the community for over 65 years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, biking, making wind chimes, and working on cars. He was a “Mr.Fix-It.”

Surviving in addition to his wife Mary, is a son, Mark Stansfield and companion Vicki, and a daughter Christine (Stansfield) Miller of Palm Bay, Florida. 5 grandchildren, Jason, Kalene, Zachary, Sean, and Allison. Also his 11 great-grandchildren; Isabella, Lia, Braden, Khloe, Lilly, Maddie, Molly, Selena, Gideon, Ember, and Violet.

SERVICE DETAILS

Services will be held at 11 Am on Friday, February 19, 2021 in the Family Life Center, 27 West Shortcut Rd. Newport, Pa 17074.  Rev. Gary Bellis will officiate.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.  A viewing will be held from 9-11 AM prior to the service,  A luncheon will follow the service. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Newport Assembly of God at 253 N. 6th St, Newport, Pa 17074.

Boyer Family Funeral Home is honored to handle the arrangements for the Stansfield Family.
