Brenda M. Richwine, 76, of Oak Road, New Bloomfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 23, 2020. Brenda fought a tough battle but her long illness prevailed. Heaven gained a beautiful angel and she will be deeply missed.
Brenda was born on May 5, 1943 in Carlisle, PA to the late George H and Pansy L. McAllister of Shermansdale PA. On January 30,1970 she married the love of her life, Richard Richwine, and resided in New Bloomfield. She worked for United Telephone and was a seamstress, but her most cherished occupation was being a mother and grandmother. Brenda was a woman of faith, dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends, and her church. Her love for children was evident in the way that she cared for many children in the community. If you misbehaved, you would be sent to the corner to recite the 10 Commandments. She was a member of Trinity Christian Church in New Bloomfield. She was very active in her church and community, always volunteering and helping those in need. Brenda was part of a prayer chain and her phone was always ringing with people calling for prayer. She loved to sing in the church choir, in fact, she was always singing, humming, and praising the Lord. She especially enjoyed her visitors who would come to sing with her the past few weeks. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She had a love for angels, her windows and shelves were overflowing with them. She also loved crosses and flowers too. Brenda touched many lives and was loved by all who knew and met her. Our lives will never be the same but we are all better people because of her. To say she was a messenger of God, is an understatement. Brenda had an infectious smile and aura about her that would light up any room. There was not a day that went by that she did not call just to say I love you. While her illness took her mind and body, we all knew that she loved us dearly. She leaves a beautiful legacy of faith and family.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents George and Pansy McAllister. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard; her son Bryan Richwine and wife Gretchen; son Brad Clouser and wife Pam; daughter Stephanie Rush and husband Alan; brother Darwin McAllister and significant other Gloria; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
On angels wings you were taken away, but in our hearts you will always stay!
