Justin Alan Boose

June 13, 1990 – March 19, 2020

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

– 2 Corinthians 4:18

Justin Alan Boose, 29, of Shermans Dale, transitioned into his Heavenly Life on March 19, 2020.

He was born June 13, 1990, the loving son of Paul Alan and Lou Ann (Snyder) Boose, and brother of Kyle.  In addition to his parents and brother, Justin is survived by his maternal grandmother, Fae (Yetter) Snyder of Camp Hill, many loving aunts and uncles – Trudy (Doug) Gardner of New Bloomfield, Deb (Hank) Gardner of New Bloomfield, Anna May (Brad) Nauss of Mechanicsburg, Jim (Bud) and Sue Snyder of Boiling Springs, Joyce (Ken) Merritt of Shiremanstown, and Jennifer (Adam) Kane of Mechanicsburg, Mitzi Feister of Camp Hill, and Sharon Feister of Camp Hill – and cousins – Brian (Jess), Christie (LB), Deb (Don), Jason (Jamie), Michelle (Dan), Jenn, Andrew (Kathy), Tyler, Michael (Brittany), Derek, Matthew, Megan, Morgan, Parker, Maya, Emma, Megan, Katie, and Ethan – and many others, who will all miss him dearly.  Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, J. Luther Snyder, and paternal grandparents, Paul W. and Jennie E. (Miller) Boose.

Justin was a 2008 graduate of West Perry High School where he was a multi-sport athlete.  He played football, wrestling, baseball, and track and field. Justin loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns fan. He loved the beach, playing mini golf, fighting with his brother, and spending time with his cousins.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisberry, and Valley Grange #1360, where he liked making (and drinking) milkshakes at the farm show.

Justin was in a motor vehicle accident in 2007, which changed his life in many ways.  Justin’s family is appreciative of all the nurses and staff at Aveanna Healthcare who cared for him, as well as the therapists who helped Justin achieve his best following the accident.  A special thank you to all the nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals at Geisinger Holy Spirit who cared for him during his multiple hospitalizations. A special thank you to Susannah Bookwalter who was Justin’s nurse and lovingly cared for him for the last 12 years.

Family and friends are welcome to call at Boyer Family Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., New Bloomfield, PA 17068, for a WALK THROUGH viewing/visitation on Tuesday, March 24 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral home will be open at the above times. This schedule is to facilitate the flow of people and prevent  gathering due to the current  Coronavirus.  A WALK THROUGH means just that. It is important to control the number of people present at one time in any gathering which includes funeral homes. Attendees may enter the Main Street entrance, WALK THROUGH, and exit through the Church Street entrance. Your understanding and patience will help us do our part in helping to avoid large groups of people as we work to win the battle against the coronavirus.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to “The Justin A. Boose Memorial Scholarship Fund”  C/0 Orrstown Bank, 15 North Second Street, Newport 17074
